At 20 years old, I lost my entire life savings of $100,000 when a stockbroker went bankrupt. Money I'd saved since I was 14, working jobs through school — gone overnight.
I could have given up. Instead, I started again. Working weekends, missing social events, driving the same 1998 Landcruiser I bought at 16 for $3,500 (still drive it today — no AC, Bluetooth speaker for podcasts).
By mid-2021, on a $56,000 income as an oil rig worker, I bought my first property. Today, I own 7 properties across 4 states — and I haven't personally visited any of my interstate investments.
